These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of MeepaChat, including the cloud service at chat.meepachat.ai, the self-hosted software, and the MeepaGateway bot framework (collectively, the "Service"), operated by Middle Lake, LLC ("we", "us", "our").
By using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. If you are under 18, you represent that your parent or guardian has reviewed and agreed to these Terms on your behalf.
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. You agree to provide accurate information when creating an account and to promptly update it if it changes. You are responsible for all activity under your account.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.
You retain ownership of content you create or upload to the Service. By posting content on MeepaChat Cloud, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to store, display, and transmit that content solely to provide the Service.
For self-hosted deployments, your content never touches our servers. You are solely responsible for your self-hosted data, including backups and compliance with applicable laws.
Availability. We strive to keep the cloud service available but do not guarantee 100% uptime. We may perform maintenance that temporarily affects availability.
Data Storage. Your messages and files are stored on our infrastructure. We implement reasonable security measures but cannot guarantee absolute security. You are encouraged to maintain your own backups of critical data.
Termination. You may delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access for violations of these Terms with reasonable notice when possible.
The self-hosted MeepaChat software is provided under the terms of its applicable license. We provide the software "as is" for self-hosted use, without any warranty, support obligation, or service-level agreement.
When you self-host MeepaChat, you assume full and sole responsibility for:
We have no access to, control over, or visibility into self-hosted instances. We do not monitor, moderate, or review content on self-hosted deployments. We are not a data processor or sub-processor for self-hosted instances. The relationship between a self-hosted operator and their users is entirely independent from Middle Lake, LLC.
Technical support for self-hosted deployments is offered on a best-effort basis through documentation and community channels only.
MeepaGateway is a framework that enables AI-powered bot agents. We provide the tools; you control what your bots do. You are solely responsible for:
We do not control, review, or endorse the output of bots built with MeepaGateway. Bot creators bear full liability for their bots' behavior, including in cases where AI-generated output is inaccurate, harmful, or unlawful.
The MeepaChat name, logo, and branding are trademarks of Middle Lake, LLC. The Service's design, code (except open-source components), and documentation are our intellectual property. You may not use our trademarks without prior written permission.
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, MIDDLE LAKE, LLC SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS, OR REVENUE, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR $100, WHICHEVER IS GREATER.
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Middle Lake, LLC, its officers, directors, and employees from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from: (a) your use of the Service; (b) your content; (c) your violation of these Terms; (d) your operation of a self-hosted instance, including any claims by your users or third parties; (e) the behavior or output of bots you create or deploy using MeepaGateway; or (f) your violation of any applicable law or third-party rights.
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify users of material changes via email or in-app notice at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of San Francisco County, California.
If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full effect.
