Middle Lake, LLC ("we", "us", "our") operates MeepaChat, including the MeepaChat cloud service at chat.meepachat.ai, the MeepaChat self-hosted software, and the MeepaGateway bot framework (collectively, the "Service"). This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and protect your information.
Account Information. When you create an account on our cloud service, we collect your email address, display name, and avatar. If you sign in via a social provider (Google, GitHub, Discord), we receive your name, email, and profile picture from that provider.
Messages and Content. Messages, files, and other content you send through MeepaChat Cloud are stored on our servers to provide the Service. For self-hosted deployments, all data stays on your infrastructure — we never access it.
Usage Data. We collect basic analytics such as page views, feature usage, and error reports to improve the Service. We do not use third-party tracking scripts or sell data to advertisers.
Device Information. We may collect device type, operating system, browser type, and IP address for security and troubleshooting purposes.
Push Notification Tokens. If you enable push notifications, we store device tokens (Web Push, FCM) to deliver notifications. These tokens are deleted when you disable notifications or delete your account.
If you self-host MeepaChat, your data remains entirely on your own servers. We do not collect, access, or process any data from self-hosted instances. The only network requests the self-hosted software makes are optional checks for new versions, which you can disable.
We do not sell your personal information. We may share data only in the following circumstances:
We retain your data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. When you delete your account, we remove your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law. Message content in servers you participated in may persist in anonymized form.
We implement industry-standard security measures including encryption in transit (TLS), secure session management, and access controls. However, no system is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

We use essential cookies for authentication and session management. We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies.
MeepaChat is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we learn we have collected data from a child under 13, we will delete it promptly.
Our cloud service is hosted in the United States. By using MeepaChat Cloud, you consent to the transfer of your data to the US. Self-hosted users control where their data is stored.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify users of material changes via email or in-app notice. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
